Kingslake, in partnership with Progress Software, conducted the OpenEdge Mobility Tour on the 4th and 6th of June 2013, in Bangalore and Colombo respectively. A multitude of IT professionals from the thriving local tech communities participated in both the events.

Speaking at the event in Colombo, Bhupesh Lall, Marketing Director for Progress Software, Asia Pacific & Japan (AP&J), cited examples of typical occurrences of OpenEdge utilisation worldwide; the automated business processes used by PepsiCo, the ERP systems used to manufacture Red Bull Racing Cars, the Point-of-Sale Systems at Subway restaurant checkout counters and the production schedules used by leading tea marketer Twinings, are just a few examples of the various systems powered by Progress OpenEdge.
Michael D’Costa, Senior Solutions Consultant at Progress, presented the Progress OpenEdge 11.2 Cloud application development platform, featuring the Cloud-based OpenEdge Mobile App Builder. Using the platform, developers can quickly build enterprise application that can run on all mobile operating systems, including iOS and Android. He explained that the “write once, run anywhere” approach gives a complete development platform to rapidly build business process-enabled applications for secure, reliable deployment across any platform, any mobile device, and any Cloud. In order to show its functionalities and features in practice, he also conducted a demonstration of OpenEdge Mobile.
Huang Xinwei, Senior Channel Sales of Progress Software South Asia said that the key to success in view of the ‘mobile first’ paradigm, are simplicity and the creation of business value. He spoke about the features and benefits of OpenEdge Mobile and informed the audience about the trial version of Progress OpenEdge which can be found on the Progress website.
Duleep Fernando, CEO of Kingslake announced the launch of KINGSLAKEblue, the new suite of Cloud based business solutions by Kingslake. He explained that KINGSLAKEblue will have a slew of practical business applications such as Accounting, Distribution, Payroll, Storage Management and Dashboard. These applications only require a smart device with internet connectivity and a monthly payment starting from $10 per user which will be a major benefit for clients.
