Succeeding two decades in the IT landscape of Sri Lanka is unparalleled especially for a wholly Sri Lankan company and that is exactly what the Just In Time Group (JIT) can boast of. This year, JIT celebrates 20 years of mammoth achievement harnessing its success and expertise towards the ICT imprint of the country and contributing further towards making Sri Lanka’s mark, as an ICT hub.
In this backdrop it was definitely a cause for celebration for JIT to be conferred with the prestigious Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award for the second consecutive year. “Our success lifecycle and drive in becoming a truly recognised brand would be impossible without the unequivocal commitment of our great team at JIT who remain committed to our vision. We are humbled as this award validates our efforts in making JIT a great employer,” JIT Head of Legal and Human Resources Sherene Goonetileke remarked. JIT is a company who believes in consistent improvement in HR policy and inculcating values of a social employer with a complete holistic approach.
From a basement space start up founded in 1996, JIT has grown from a six-employee team to a 150-employee group with varied ICT offerings ranging from systems integration to geographical information system. JIT a wholly Sri Lankan company has been the key partner and the implementer of many mission critical ICT projects of national importance such as; the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system and Scripless Securities System of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, ATM Switch and Disaster Recovery Centre at People’s Bank, Common Cards Payments Switch (CCAPS) at LankaClear to name a few. With the dawn of 2016, JIT completes a two decade incredible journey in the ICT arena of Sri Lanka. This growth throughout the years is a testament to the longstanding strategic partnerships with principals, customers and employees.
“We have dedicated the next three years to introducing and anchoring HR best practices, with an emphasis on aligning corporate strategies with the interests of employees whom we see as fundamental to company growth,” was further shared by Goonetileke, on this recognition.
Creating a continuous dynamic place of work that adapts to change to keep the approach current and progressive can be a daunting task in this current fast track world, which puts JIT above the rest. The ‘no holds barred’ all or nothing attitude is their motto at JIT. “We have a variety of recognition schemes in place as we strongly believe appreciation is at the heart of a happy and content employee. A key underlying factor is the family bond amongst the JIT team, having a majority of employees who have dedicated over 10+ years to the company, illustrating commitment and resilience. We are overjoyed about our ability to retain staff and retain them without compromise. The long standing employees of JIT have proved that dedication and working together as a family trumps all in the journey towards achieving success.”
Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards are organised by the Employer Branding Institute together with the World HRD Congress, Stars of the Industry Group and endorsed by the Asian Confederation of Businesses. This year’s awards were held in Singapore on 4 August.
