Red Hat, the leading provider of open source solutions, recently appointed Informatics, a Sri Lankan IT giant the prestigious ‘Advanced Business Partner’ status.
The ‘Advanced Business Partner’ status further elevates Informatics position as Red Hat’s strategic partner in Sri Lanka. The partnership places Informatics in a strong position to provide market-leading experience and expertise in supporting Red Hat open source solutions across a range of industrial sectors and Government Departments.
Informatics and Red Hat’s affiliation dates back to early years when it was one of the very few local organisations to promote the growing relevance of Linux to the enterprise. Today, Informatics provides a depth of experience in Linux domain knowledge that is unrivalled by competitors – a key differentiator that is recognised and valued by a loyal and growing customer base. The enhanced partnership will facilitate a fresh focus on developing complex, high-end open source solutions for customers in the region. “Informatics has a wealth of experience in implementing innovative and reliable IT solutions in Sri Lanka and we believe that Informatics is a right fit for Red Hat,” said Sunil Manohar, Senior Partner Account Manager, South India and Sri Lanka for Red Hat. “Through our partnership we will be able to provide the highest quality of open source solutions and extend the reach of Red Hat products and solutions to new and existing markets,” he added.
One of the cutting-edge advantages of the partnership is that it will enable Informatics to strategically position itself as an enterprise-class open source solution provider to its customers who are looking for a more effective way of doing business in the current environment of shrinking IT budgets. Leveraging x86/x64 platforms for more mission critical applications has become a corporate reality. Red Hat’s customer base comprises stock exchanges across the globe is testament to the company’s technological prowess.
Lasantha Bogoda, Head – Enterprise Solutions of Informatics said: “We are very much excited to be awarded this status and we expect that customers will appreciate the added value propositions they will gain. It will also provide our customers with an additional degree of confidence as they deploy Red Hat’s proven technologies.” As an Information Technology Company with a backing of nearly three decades worth of experience, Informatics is known as a source of innovative solutions, quality customised software and reliable support services. Founded in 1983, it is one of the oldest and largest IT companies in Sri Lanka with an unblemished track record, offering innovative and quality solutions in nearly all vertical markets. It is the only Sri Lankan IT Company to have been awarded the Presidential Award for Software Exports to date.
