IDD call rate increases has no impact

Alcatel-Lucent Managing Director for Sri Lanka and the Maldives Upendra Samaratunge answering a question on IDD rate increases in the Budget and its impacts on the local market stated that there would only be a minor impact.

“The increase in the Budget is very marginal. We have discussed with leaders in the telecom industry and they are of the view that the Budget will not have too much impact on the revenue,” he said.
