The ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) has won the Infotel 2010 Award of Excellence for creative and attractive presentation of ICT-enabled State sector projects to the public.
The award was granted to ICTA at the recently-concluded national ICT exhibition Infotel 2010 held at BMICH, (Sirimavao Bandaranaike Convention Centre) Colombo for three people-friendly ICT-enabled projects initiated by the ICT Agency.
The Infotel organisers said that in granting this award consideration was given also specially to the instant issue of copies of birth and marriage certificates to visitors to the Infotel exhibition from first to fourth instant.
At this exhibition it was possible to issue about 1,000 copies of birth certificates within a short time under the supervision of the Colombo District Secretary.
In addition Infotel Organising Committee Chairman A. Jayaseelan said that ICTA added value to Infotel 2010 by conducting a career guidance workshop on employment opportunities in the IT-BPO sector to more than 6,000 students from Grade 9 upwards.
