Huawei, the fastest growing smartphone in Sri Lanka, partnered with Dialog Axiata, Sri Lanka’s premier telecommunications service provider to market the recently launched flagship smartphone – the Huawei P9.
The launch event was patronised by Shunli Wang – CEO Huawei Sri Lanka and Henry Liu – Country Head Huawei Device Sri Lanka and Sandra De Zoysa Chief Customer Officer, Shayam Majeed Group Chief Officer – Commercial and Programme Management, Amali Nanayakkara Group Chief Marketing Officer, Anthony Rodrigo Group Chief Information Officer and Chief Digital Services Officer, Asanga Priyadarshana Head of Business Mobile Telecommunications, Zarina Rahim Chief Corporate Liaison/Senior General Manager – Group Key Client Services, Ramanan Devairakam Senior General Manager – Large Enterprise and Business Development, from Dialog Axiata PLC plus close to a 100 Club Vision members at the Dialog Iconic – Digital Experience Centre.
Through the partnership, all Dialog Club Vision members would be able to purchase the new Huawei P9 high-end smartphone and avail of a range of special benefits and offers. The new flagship P9 will be available at exclusive Dialog outlets providing an opportunity for all Sri Lankans to experience the Leica co-engineered dual lens smartphone.
The Huawei P9 is the first smartphone co-engineered with the global iconic brand, Leica Camera AG. The P9’s dual-lens camera takes smartphone photography to the next level, allowing people to capture both vivid colors and striking black and white images. The wide-aperture photography feature on the P9 allows users to experiment with innovative visual effects to create unique images and content. With a 5.2-inch 1080p display, the P9 is powered by the new Kirin 955 2.5GHz 64-bit ARM-based processor for leading-class mobile performance. The 3,000mAh high-density battery offers P9 users outstanding mobility and battery life.
Speaking at the launch event, Henry Liu – Country Head Huawei Device Sri Lanka said: “We are honoured to partner with Sri Lanka’s largest mobile network operator Dialog Axiata to introduce the Huawei P9. We hope this partnership would further enhance our distribution and also create a new avenue for Huawei fans to experience superior smartphone technology through Huawei Devices.”
Dialog Club Vision members also had the opportunity to experience the new smartphone first hand. Available in Gold, Silver and Black colours, the Huawei P9 will be introduced at a price of Rs. 75,999 and Huawei P9 Lite is priced at Rs. 38,999, and is now available at selected Dialog outlets.
Key to the P9’s superlative imaging capabilities is a dual-camera design that fully unleashes the power of Leica’s optical lenses, renowned for precision and attention to detail, and subject to the industry’s most stringent quality screening requirements. The RGB camera on the P9 specialises in capturing colour, while the monochrome camera is outstanding at acquiring picture detail. The two rear cameras of the P9 work in tandem to enable users to create images of superior detail, depth and colour. The P9 truly excels in low-light conditions, as the dual-camera design guarantees lighter and detailed captured.
Huawei is aggressively expecting considerable growth in 2016 as it has achieved outmatched milestones in the previous year as well. Huawei has gained a market share of 23.3% according to GFK within the first quarter of 2016 in Sri Lanka further accelerating its market as the number two smartphone brand in the country. Huawei is ranked 47th among the World’s Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in 2016 According to Brand Finance.
