H Connect first Lankan BPO to get ISO 27001:2013 certification

H Connect’s top standards were recently validated by the ISO 27001:2013 certification, making it the first BPO company in Sri Lanka to be certified under the revised standard.               The certification was provided following an audit by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). This achievement highlights H Connect’s commitment towards delivering high quality services along with the assurance of information security. The ISO 27000 family of standards helps organisations keep information assets secure and is especially focused towards managing the security of assets such as financial information, intellectual property, employee details or information entrusted to a company by third parties. ISO 27001 is the best-known standard in the family in providing requirements for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). An ISMS is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information so that it remains secure and includes a comprehensive set of policies covering people, processes and IT systems via the application of a risk management process. “As a Business Process Management company with a specialised focus on financial and accounting solutions, we believe it is important for us to invest the resources to achieving this certification,” H Connect Director/CEO Akshay Hirdaramani. “The high level of integrity in our existing processes and practices meant we were able to achieve the standards for ISO 27001 with relative ease,” he added.
