Global recognition for ISACA – Sri Lanka chapter

ISACA Sri Lanka chapter has been awarded the K. Wayne Snipes award for the Best Medium sized chapter in Asia for the year 2013. The Sri Lanka Chapter of ISACA has been in existence since 1996 and has more than 170 members. ISACA is the world’s leading provider of IT-Audit, Governance, Security, Risk and Control certifications and has more than 110,000 members in more than 200 chapters worldwide. The Sri Lanka chapter also has the distinction of being the recipient of this award in 2006 previously. The K. Wayne Snipes award was formally presented to M. Asokan, President Sri Lanka Chapter at the ISACA Global Leadership conference held in Las Vegas, USA on 26-27 April 2014. Currently Sri Lanka has more than 77 qualified Certified Information System Auditors (CISA) and 24 Certified Information Security Managers (CISM) along with other specialised certifications. ISACA Sri Lanka Chapters’ main aim is to promote the IS Audit, Control and Security profession through various educational seminars, workshops and to help students who seek professional certifications. The Chapter also collaborates with related professional organisations and universities to promote the skills and knowledge among the rest of the society. The K. Wayne Snipes award recipients are determined based on the following criteria: Chapter membership growth; Member service projects; Attendance at Chapter meetings/Educational meetings; Involvement with other professional organisations; Compliance with ISACA International Headquarters requirements and Educational events conducted by the chapter.
