Samsung Electronics, a leading mobile phone provider, yesterday today announced the extension of the Galaxy family with the launch of Samsung Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Pop smartphones.

Announcing the launch, K. Shankar Narayan, Country Head, Samsung Electronics, Sri Lanka stated: “Following the phenomenal success of Samsung Galaxy S, we wanted to expand our Android based Smartphone offerings in the Sri Lankan market in keeping with our philosophy of ‘smartphone for everyone’. Our new Galaxy series will enable our consumers to be more effective, productive, better connected, and in tune with their smart life – both personal and professional – all in a very easy and simple way.”

The new Samsung Galaxy models offer a premium design, enhanced multimedia features and the superior Android experience with Android 2.2.

With over 100,000 applications from the Android market and Samsung Apps, the new Galaxy series are designed for optimum performance, with the new handsets offering characteristic features of the Galaxy series including Quicktype by SWYPE, Social Hub, TouchWiz 3.0 and Active Sync.

Samsung Galaxy Ace

With its elegant and sophisticated design, the Samsung GALAXY Ace (S5830) based on the Android 2.2 platform, provides users with a premium experience with its 3.5” HVGA TFT display and its optimum 800 Mhz processor that enables consumers to experience smooth web browsing, hi-quality 3D graphic performance and faster data processing.

Further the 600 MHz processor can handle multitasking of various applications while the 1200 mAH battery allows users to talk, surf, and play with ease.
