Etisalat Lanka Ltd., yesterday ceremoniously opened its first ever flagship store at its corporate office located at 109 Galle Road, Colombo 3, next to Temple Trees, and promised to set up more stores in select towns to serve its growing customer base in the country.
The flagship store will serve as a one-stop shop where customers can experience new products and receive Etisalat’s renowned efficient and convenient customer service.
Etisalat Flagship Store opening was attended by UAE Ambassador to Sri Lanka Abdul Hamid Abdul Fattah K. Al Mulla, Etisalat Lanka Director/CEO Dumindra Ratnayaka, Etisalat Lanka Directors Jamal Saif Al Jarwan and Wail lsmail Salman, and senior management personnel.
The Etisalat flagship store features an experience centre displaying cutting-edge products aimed at enhancing lifestyles and empowering individual mobile communication needs. The flagship store allows customers to experience these products first-hand with useful insights from trained service personnel. The store also has a customer care point where products and services can be purchased and a billing centre where they could make bill payments.
Commenting on the opening of the Flagship Store, Etisalat Lanka Director/CEO, Dumindra Ratnayaka said, “The Etisalat flagship store will provide a refreshing and unique new experience to customers. The ambience in the store has been designed to inspire customers, while they discover new technologies that fulfill and enhance their mobile communications experiences and needs.”
He described the flagship store opening as an important milestone in Etisalat’s march forward in Sri Lanka.
“Three years ago when Etisalat entered Sri Lanka, we promised to deliver a global experience to our customers. In pursuit of this goal, we expanded our coverage to all corners of the country and upgraded the network to become South Asia’s most advanced. With the launch of a full range of smartphones at both high and low end, we enhanced the user experience. With today’s opening of the flagship store, we are providing an unmatched experience of our products and experience,” Ratnayaka added.
The store will be a launching point for new technology, including the Apple iPhone 5, which coupled with Etisalat’s new devices for DC-HSPA+ technology, will provide customers with a mobile broadband experience like never before.
The flagship store is the first in a series of outlets that Etisalat will open around the country in an expansion drive that will enable it to service its customers island-wide. This is part of Etisalat’s broader plan of expanding operations and coverage around the country while introducing new technology and solutions that will boost the mobile telecommunications sector.
The next store will be opened in Galle followed by another at the World Trade Centre in Fort.
Chief Regional Officer Jamal Saif Al Jarwan said that Etisalat’s decision to invest in Sri Lanka was due to the firm belief in the country’s potential and add value to Sri Lankan customers. “We are here for the long haul and we are committed to Sri Lanka. We will provide leading telecom solutions at affordable prices and also support Sri Lanka’s progression in the ICT sector,” he added.
UAE Ambassador Hamid Abdul Fattah K. Al Mulla acknowledged Etisalat’s fast growth since its debut. “Etisalat made the right decision by investing in Sri Lanka and with lot of opportunities in Sri Lanka, Etisalat can grow further,” the Ambassador added.
