Continuing with its traditions and values, Epic Lanka accommodated another batch of undergraduate students from the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) for industry training during early this month. This training is an integral part of the degree programme and lasts for a period of six months.
“Epic internship is unique. The growing demand from students from various local and foreign universities provides ample evidence for the value the students and the employers place on our training methodology. We continue with our high standards of training to ensure the country produces world class ICT professionals,” said Krishan Jayewardane, Senior Vice President – Operations of Epic Lanka, who is also an alumnus of University of Colombo and the UCSC.
The training begins with a comprehensive induction programme where the trainees undergo a familiarisation process, basic training in best practices in software development, testing procedures, project management, etc. “As we follow ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and CMMi standards, it is important that the students get an adequate exposure before they commence their training,” he added.
“Being a leading software solutions company, Epic Lanka has been assisting the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) for the past several years by way of student internships and the feedback we receive from the students is quite impressive,” said Dr. Shiromi Arunatileka of UCSC, who is in charge of the industrial placements of undergraduate students.
“Working with winning teams demands rigorous preparations.
