DMS Electronics, (DMSE) a pioneer ICT solutions provider in Sri Lanka, has successfully implemented the end-to-end networking solutions and cabling infrastructure at the People’s Leasing & Finance (PLC) head office building in Borella.
The state-of-the-art solution was deployed with high availability and a 10 Gigabit fibre backbone given the criticality of the network for their operations. A complete power over Ethernet solution that provides both data and voice capabilities covering the entire building is another key highlight of this solution.
“Our goal was to create a modern and robust network that would enable us to provide our customers with a superior service and convenience,” said Prabath Gunasena, Head of ICT of PLC.
The 12-storey PLC head office building was opened to commemorate People’s Bank’s 50th anniversary and has been recognised with several national and global awards and standards, including the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 Information Security Management System Standard by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The building also won the prestigious 5-star award for Best Office Architecture in both Sri Lanka and the Asia Pacific region at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2012.
“We are extremely glad to add yet another turnkey networking solution to our list of successfully completed projects,” said Chandana Weerasinghe, General Manager – Division 02 at DMS Electronics. “The deployment of this project was a complex one, where we worked closely with our solution partners HP and Tyco and also with multiple stakeholders including the consultants, designers, architects, building contractors and the customer, PLC, for nearly two years. Good coordination together with effective project management helped us in achieving our goal.”
“DMSE works in a variety of sub sectors within the IT industry, and our success over the last three decades can be attributed to our strong relationships with our principals and partners,” said Lal Chandranath – Managing Director of DMS Electronics. “With the current construction boom, DMS Electronics will continue to play its role as a supplier of quality and cost effective networking solutions for these infrastructure projects.”
