The University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) has now commenced the enrolment of new students for the Postgraduate Masters Programme, UCSC Director, Prof. Gihan Wickramanayake said.
Under the Postgraduate Masters Programme of the UCSC, students can read for the Master of Computer Science (MCS), Master of Information Technology (MIT) and Master of Science in Information Security (MIS).
These three Postgraduate qualifications offered by the UCSC are highly rated and widely recognised in the sphere of Information and Communication technology both locally and internationally, Prof. Wickramanayake said.
The Master of Computer Science (MCS) Programme is designed for CS/IT graduates who wish to acquire a research focused postgraduate qualification in Computer Science. Eligibility: A Degree in Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT) from a recognized University or any other academic or professional qualification judged equivalent to a Degree in CS or IT by the Senate of the University of Colombo.
The Master of Information Technology (MIT) Programme is meant for people with no previous academic computing experience and is designed around candidates coming from a wide range of academic backgrounds having a basic degree or a professional qualification. Eligibility: A degree from a recognised university or any other academic or professional qualification judged equivalent to a degree by the Senate of the University of Colombo.
The Master of Science in Information Security (MIS) Programme is designed for graduates who wish to acquire a postgraduate qualification in the area of Information Security.
This programme offers mid-career opportunities for those working in the areas of information technology, information system audit and information security. Eligibility: A degree from a recognised university or any other academic or professional qualification judged equivalent to a degree by the Senate of the University of Colombo.
The duration of each of these Postgraduate Programmes is two years. Admission to these courses will be made on the basis of a written aptitude test followed by an interview. The medium of instruction will be in English and a good working knowledge of English is expected from the candidates.
