Sri Lanka’s largest gathering of ‘Agilists’, the Colombo Agile Conference, is back for the third year featuring a great line-up of globally renowned speakers and will take place on 26 February. A highly sought-after event by the country’s IT community, the Agile Conference has grown from strength to strength since its debut in 2013 and this year too, promises a carefully crafted agenda that covers latest developments in the Agile arena and other cutting-edge trends and advancements.

The panel of speakers include the acclaimed Agile Coach and Trainer Janet Gregory, who co-authored the book ‘Agile Testing: A Practical Guide for Testers and Agile Teams’, and Agile guru Pete Deemer, CEO of GoodAgile and newly-elected Chairman of Scrum Alliance – a well-known figure in the Agile community who needs no introduction to the Lankan IT industry.

Organised by the Colombo Camps Community, the conference will be held at the BMICH.

The complete line-up of speakers will be announced over the next couple of weeks by the organisers via the official event website (www.colomboagileconference.com) and social media (www.facebook.com/ColomboAgileConference and www.twitter.com/CMBAgileConf).

Software development processes have been revolutionised globally by the ‘Agile’ movement over the past couple of years and is one of the most used development concepts in the world today. This alternative to traditional project management has been adopted by a number of companies in Sri Lanka’s IT sector and has steadily been gaining popularity locally.

The Colombo Camps Community is an independent community of software developers, with a common goal of improving the competencies of members of the Sri Lankan IT community. This concept of forming the community from technical personnel of the local IT industry is an effort to bridge gaps prevalent in the IT sector in terms of knowledge and skills. The initiative is a collective attempt to place Sri Lanka on the global map as a hub for IT knowledge services.

Since its establishment, the CCC has played a vital role in bringing together specialists in various IT-related niche segments through various meetups, conferences and other events. These include the Colombo iPhone Dev Camp, Colombo SharePoint Camp, Colombo Code Camp, Colombo Agile Camp, Colombo Architecture Meetup, Colombo PerfTest Meetup, Colombo Mobile Developer Meetup, Colombo Security Meetup, Colombo Selenium Meetup, Colombo Agile Conference, Software Product Engineering Conference and the Colombo UX Conference.

The Colombo Agile Conference 2016 is sponsored by software product engineering company 99X Technology, Scrum Alliance, certified Scrum trainer GoodAgile, Tickets.lk as official ticketing partner and ReadMe.lk as digital media sponsor.
