CICRA Education yesterday announced an exam preparation boot camp for Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), the credential most sought after by professionals who develop policies and procedures in information security.
Wipul Jayawickrama, one of the first Sri Lankans to get certified in CISSP, is our trainer, CICRA Education Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said.
“Our trainer has mentored number of CISSPs in the past. Wipul is an accredited adult and workplace trainer, Certified Auditor in business continuity, network security and a cyber-forensic investigator in Australia,” Dayaratne said.
“With over two decades of experience, Wipul has authored several books and addressed number of key international seminars on cyber security and is the head of Infoshield Consulting, Australia,” he said.
“If someone plans to build a career in information security – one of today’s most visible professions – and if he has at least five full years of experience in information security, then the CISSP® credential should be his next career goal. It’s the credential for professionals who develop policies and procedures in information security,” Dayaratne said.
The CISSP certification exams are conducted by International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2®.
A CISSP is an information assurance professional who defines the architecture, design, management and/or controls that assure the security of business environments.
The vast breadth of knowledge and the experience it takes to pass the exam is what sets the CISSP apart. The credential demonstrates a globally recognised standard of competence provided by the (ISC)²® CBK which covers critical topics in security today, including cloud computing, mobile security, application development security, risk management and more.
The CISSP was the first credential in the field of information security to meet the stringent requirements of ISO/IEC Standard 17024. CISSP certification is not only an objective measure of excellence, but also a globally recognised standard of achievement.
