  • CEO named ICT Entrepreneur of the Year
Marking an impressive milestone in the company’s list of recent achievements, Bileeta Ltd swept the boards with the three top awards at the 16th National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) 2014 held last week at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo. Bileeta was adjudged the Overall Gold Winner for its cloud-based ERP ‘Entution’ at this pinnacle awards ceremony that recognises the best software products by competing with some of the best-known names in the ICT industry. Bileeta also won Gold for E-Logistics & Supply Chain Management for the same product placing them amongst the top tier ICT companies in Sri Lanka. Adding to the glory of the night, CEO Sanji De Silva was recognised as the ICT Entrepreneur of the Year for his outstanding efforts in venturing into organisational development in an IT company. “What a night it was,” gushed De Silva. “Being a totally Sri Lankan brand, we have achieved this immense recognition through sheer hard work and dedicated team effort. On the strength of these wins, we have proven that our team has the capacity and knowledge to put Sri Lanka on the world’s IT map.” He added, “We are now eager to participate in the Asia Pacific ICT Awards in Indonesia and mark our foray into international market and bring in foreign revenue to the country.” Bileeta’s Entution is a cloud-based ERP solution based on a brand new concept called ‘Journeys’ and is designed to simplify customer experience from the point of purchasing, implementing, and using an ERP, thereby allowing companies to overcome challenges faced in traditional enterprise resource planning solutions. Journeys allows customers to easily select the exact functionality that will suit their requirements. This, in turn, avoids functionality overloading, saves cost in purchasing an ERP and also reduces the user resistance. Speaking on the wins, Bileeta CTO and Chief Architect Sanka Weerasinghe said, “Two years ago we came up with an idea that would overcome the complexity of ERP applications because we felt that innovation is stagnant in the ERP world. Entution is based on a brand new concept where companies can purchase Journeys which provides exact functionalities to suit their business requirements.” The ICT Entrepreneur of the Year award was jointly awarded by BCS Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section and the Sri Lanka Association of Software & Service Companies (SLASSCOM).
