Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, yesterday announced a strategic partnership with mobile value added service provider Tranglo to introduce Talk Time gifting for Airtel Lanka customers across geographies. With this, friends and family residing abroad will now be able to gift Talk Time to their loved ones in Sri Lanka – anytime, anywhere!
Speaking about the partnership Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka CEO Suren Goonewardene said, “Our partnership with Tranglo has enabled us to supplement our localised top up services by allowing customers to stay in touch with their loved ones through the gifting of Talk Time across geographies. We look forward to working with Tranglo to deliver this unique experience for our customers in Sri Lanka.”
Tranglo CEO HY Sia added, “We are delighted to extend our offering to Airtel, allowing them to benefit from our extensive distribution network. We have a strong presence in Asia and the Middle East and are happy to have reinforced our position even further in this area by tying up with Airtel – a leading global player with an increasingly strong market presence in Sri Lanka.”
With the minimum amount that can be transferred being Rs. 10, Airtel customers can now share news of this service with their friends and family residing abroad, to enable the gifting of Talk Time across geographies.
With this tie up, Sri Lankans will be offered the opportunity to receive the gift of Talk Time direct to their Airtel mobile from friends and family residing abroad. For post paid Airtel customers, a gift of up to Rs. 25,000 can be received which will be deducted from their monthly bill. Prepaid Airtel customers can receive up to Rs. 9,999 direct to their mobile which will be reflected by an increase in their credit balance (by the amount sent).
