National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) Bronze was awarded to the in-house developed application ‘iFleet’ while Merit was awarded to the Charika staff travel application.

It was a proud moment for the national carrier to be recognised out of 120 ICT organisations which submitted more than 250 sophisticated IT products for the competition. The National ICT Awards is an annual event organised by the Sri Lanka Section of the British Computer Society (BCS) which brings together the best organisations in Sri Lanka to recognise the finest quality software products to promote the nation’s ability to take on the global IT market as well as recognise their contributions to the public.

The Bronze Award winning application ‘iFleet’ is fully integrated with operational systems to bring 360-degree visibility of SriLankan fleet on a comprehensive single operations window. The application is available for staff and is extensively used by the Airline Operations Control Center (AOCC) and by the crew as it provides real-time flight status, passenger loads, crew information, and aircraft maintenance schedules as well as aircraft utilisations.

The Merit Award was won by the ‘Charika’ application for enabling the self-service ticketing function for staff and transforming the UL staff ticket issuing process into a fully automated digital service with round the clock availability.
