The two-in-one Chuwi device
Softlogic Information Technologies Ltd., one of the country’s leading solutions providers and systems integrators, and a fully-owned subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings PLC, announced the launch of an innovative, cost-effective, and detachable (two-in-one) device, specially designed for education/online learning purposes. The ‘Chuwi’ Hi10 X is a multi-functional device that will make life easier for the new paradigm shift to digital learning.
Speaking on the launch Softlogic Information Technologies CEO/Director Roshan Rassool said: “During the pandemic, a lot of changes took place in our day-to-day life. One of the areas where changes have been imperative for continuation is the education sector. In order to continue educating children from the primary level right up to tertiary education, parents, schools, educational institutes, universities and colleges had to adopt online learning. Support services to education had to come up with innovative new technologies to connect the student and the teacher. One of the biggest concerns for many though has been the cost factor of devices and Softlogic Information Technologies is proud to have a cost-effective solution: Chuwi.”
The Chuwi device comes fully-equipped with a 10-inch full HD display, 6GB memory, 128GB storage capacity, Windows 10, and an optional detachable keyboard and stylus. Additionally the device can be purchased on easy payment terms with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. The device features a full metal body, which makes it durable and long-lasting. Once detached, the tablet can be used independently while the stylus is a handy way to take notes, make annotations or drawings with windows 10 and third-party interactive whiteboard applications.
“Chuwi is specially designed to help students multi-task, and is a clear indication of what classrooms will look like in the near future. We are introducing the device at an affordable price because we see the huge need for it in the current setup, and anticipate the requirements to grow further as digital transformation in the education sector becomes a norm,” he added.
The device can also be a great portable teaching tool for teachers and lecturers, who can create teaching guides, Powerpoint presentations, and connect the device to a Wi-Fi-enabled projector with ease for larger displays in classrooms. Throughout the years, Softlogic Information Technologies has extended their support with digital transformation solutions to many private and public schools, institutes and universities in Sri Lanka, to other areas such as banking and finance, healthcare, transport, hospitality, etc.
