The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) is gearing up to once again host its 5th Quality & Business Excellence Summit, which commenced in 2010. This year it
moves to a virtual format and will be held across two days, on 9 and 10 March, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
“The Quality & Business Excellence summit is the only event focusing exclusively on the IT BPM quality engineering and business process excellence community. It has always been a milestone event of the Quality Forum that brings together practitioners in quality engineering and business excellence. This is a key thrust for SLASSCOM as Sri Lanka is promoted globally as the Island of Ingenuity and is known for its niche product and services capability delivered by Sri Lankan talent catering to world renowned brands,” commented SLASSCOM Vice Chair Sandra De Zoysa who conceptualised and initiated the quality forum in 2009.
She added: “With the summit going virtual, we will be able to expand its reach to engage with global participants and speakers making it a very content rich format and a great collaboration platform for our process excellence and quality engineering fraternity.”
With a passion to drive Sri Lanka’s IT/BPM industry towards its next wave of growth, SLASSCOM’s Quality Forum is determined to develop enterprise capability in the island by adopting international standards of quality, security and governance.
Aptly themed ‘Accelerating Quality beyond the new normal’ the SLASSCOM Quality & Business Excellence Summit 2021 is aimed at encouraging leaders in the QA community to be exposed to the very latest in software testing, technology and trends, as well as experience and insights that can be applied in one’s workplace to advance and accelerate business in this digital technology era.
“The summit will be offering a valuable platform for quality engineering professionals and enthusiasts in the industry and targets software quality professionals, business analysts and project managers as well as process managers, CXOs and product managers given that the topics have been carefully selected to include both quality and business aspects,” says SLASSCOM Quality Forum Head Tharindra Jayamaha.
SLASSCOM General Council Member, Founding Member and Quality Engineering Expert of the Forum, Sisira Kumara noted: “Since the pandemic hit last March, it has not been an easy journey across industries, countries and businesses to function in a business as usual environment. In the new normal state, most are compelled to experience and adapt to changes without prior learning to refer to. Fortunately, quality professionals have change management tools at their fingertips for faster adaption and this year’s theme underpins, key concepts and methods on how we must change fast, adapt and implement even faster.”
The Quality & Business Excellence Summit 2021 will include presentations and discussions on topics relating to Test Automation in the new era, AI, Machine Learning, User Experience Design, Process excellence, Performance testing, Security, Data Analytics, in line with the theme ‘Accelerating Quality Beyond the New Normal’.
The conference is hosted by SLASSCOM in collaboration with sponsors CAMMS, Broadband Partner and Sponsor Dialog Home Broadband, Print Media Partner Wijeya Newspapers Ltd., Digital Media Partner Articulate and Corporate Sponsor Dialog Enterprise.
SLASSCOM as the national chamber for the knowledge and innovation industry in Sri Lanka, acts as the catalyst of growth by facilitating trade and business, propagation of education and employment, encouraging research and innovation, and supporting the creation of a forward thinking and progressive national policy framework. They have over 200 member companies accounting for approximately 90% of the IT-BPM industry export revenue.
The Quality Forum of SLASSCOM is passionate in its ambition to elevate the quality of software export from Sri Lanka to the world.
