The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) announced the National IT Conference Day 1 Fireside Chat on the topic of Digital Policy for Industry 4.0 Acceleration with eminent global and local experts on the subject. The 39th edition of the National Information Technology Conference (NITC), themed ‘Accelerate Technology Diffusion’ will be held on 12 and 13 October as a virtual conference. NITC is Sri Lanka’s flagship ICT Conference organised by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL).
NITC 2021 Day 1 Fireside Chat scheduled on 12 October from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., features ICTA Chairman/TRCSL DG Oshadha Senanayake, Facebook Director Policy Programs and Government Outreach Beth Ann Lim, SLIIT Chairman/ICTA Board Member Professor Lalith Gamage, and FITIS Chairman/Lanka Bell Managing Director Dr. Prasad Samarasinghe.
The session will be moderated by CSSL Executive Council Member and Huawei Technologies VP Indika De Sozya.
Speaking about NITC 2021, CSSL President Damith Hettihewa said, “This year’s National IT Conference theme, ‘Accelerate Technology Diffusion’ reflects on the Government’s vision of Technology Diffusion for citizens benefit. CSSL is advocating acceleration of digital transformation of the country to leverage Industry 4.0 opportunity for Sri Lanka to become a wealthy nation.
“Our country needs to accelerate policy formation, legal enactments to adopt cutting edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Augmented Reality, Internet of Things (IOT), Robotic Process Automation and Integration, Big Data and real time analytics, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, etc. in the vital sectors of the economy. Global domain experts, local policymakers and industry leaders will deliberate on the Digital Policy acceleration aspect at the Day 1 Fireside Chat at NITC 2021.
This year’s National Information Technology Conference is organised under the leadership of CSSL President Damith Hettihewa. The Conference Chair is Rasantha Hettithathrige while Dr. Ajantha Atukorale and Dr. Adeesha Wijayasiri are spearheading the academic track and research colloquium of the conference.
The CSSL organises the National Information Technology Conference (NITC) annually, which is the flagship ICT event in Sri Lanka. This event involves key ICT decision makers in the private and public sector together to share and discuss latest trends in Information and Communication Technology with over 28 foreign and local prominent speakers and more than 1,000 ICT professionals.
NITC 2021 will also be supported by Ministry of Technology and Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka as the National Partner.
