Jeevan Gnanam appointed adviser to FASL

Jeevan Gnanam was recently appointed as an adviser to the Fintech Association of Sri Lanka (FASL). 

Jeevan is the chief executive of St. Anthony’s Industries Group and founder of a number of Fintech related ventures. He transformed the failed e-commerce venture into an IT-services company called ‘SAKS Global’ which employs 230 people. He recognised the lack of infrastructure in Sri Lanka for IT companies and founded the ‘Orion City’. He co-founded the ‘Lankan Angel Network’ and the crowd funding platform, ‘Crowd Island’.

When he was the chairman of SLASSCOM, Sri Lanka’s apex IT industry business chamber, he co-founded Hatch, a collaborative and innovative work space for start-ups in Colombo Fort. He also founded a $ 3-5 million fund called MESH to help start-ups. He founded ‘Veracity AI’, an AI company and ‘Digital Realty’, Sri Lanka’s first high-density data centre.

FASL is a MoU-signed partner of the Singapore Fintech Association, Fintech Association of the Philippines, and Fintech Association of Hong Kong. FASL was a Supporter Institution for the ‘Finners City Summit 2018’ in Shanghai; ‘Chain Plus: Asia-Pacific Blockchain New Finance Summit 2019’ in Singapore; ‘Block Plus Summit – Future of Fintech’ in Vietnam; ‘India Fintech Award - IFTA 2019’ in Mumbai and ‘Fintech Galaxy Awards’ in Dubai.

FASL was a Regional Co-Organiser of the Asia Smart App Awards Summit 2019 at Cyberport, Hong Kong, and partnered a seminar on ‘Real Estate Tokenisation – Challenges and Opportunities in Hong Kong’, which was hosted by The University of Hong Kong.

FASL is a Supporter Institution for the forthcoming events, Terrapinn‘s ‘Seamless Middle East 2020’ in Dubai; Money20/20 Asia in Singapore; The Economic Times’ BFSI Innovation Tribe Summit & Awards and Mumbai Fintech Hub’s India FinTech Festival (IFF) in Mumbai.

FASL is a Regional Co-Organiser of the forthcoming ‘Asia Smart App Awards Summit 2020’ in Hong Kong for the second time. FASL is organising regular Fintech workshops (based on the Fintech course of The University of Hong Kong) at Hilton Colombo in collaboration with Sri Lanka Chapters of the Colorado, USA based American Academy of Project Management (AAPM) and Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM).
