In preparation of adapting the future technological advancements, FineTech together with Google Inc. recently hosted a GCP (Google Cloud Platform) event under the theme ‘Move with Next Generation Cloud’ targeting key customers. The event was attended by Google partners from India, Dr. Ajith Pasqual senior lecturer in the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Moratuwa and representatives from Pristine Solutions.
The event was mainly targeted at the top decision makers of the corporate sector and also introduced Google’s latest cloud technology that can be implemented in order to enhance the productivity of any organisation through a digital approach. More than 200 IT professionals from various industries attended FineTech’s second such event this year.
Sreenivas Makam responsible for Technical Enablement of Google Cloud Partners and Architecting Solutions for Google Cloud Customers at Google India spoke on ‘GCP Differentiators, GCP Infrastructure & Migration, GCP Data Engineering & Machine Learning’, while Harshal Pendse Head of the Indian Sub-Continent Google Cloud Partnerships & Alliances took the gathering on a ‘Journey through the Cloud’.
Meanwhile Manas Saran representing the Product Team at Actifio gave an ‘Overview of Google Cloud’. Dr. Pasqual, a renowned local IT expert and founder of Paraqum Technologies Ltd. spoke on the benefits of Cloud-based Network Analytics. Sanath Premachandra, Chief Executive Director and Iran Udayanga, Principle Technical Consultant/Assistant Manager of Pristine Solutions also shared their views on how to ‘Migrate your SAP to Cloud’. The session was wrapped up by our FineTech’s Founder Clehan Pulle who presented on ‘OverC, the Workflow Management System’ followed by a Q/A session. Speaking at the ceremony FineTech’s Founder Clehan Pulle noted, “The rapidly transforming world requires digital savvy businesses to be on par with what their customers and end users are expecting. The first event we held in July this year with only 50 participants drew so much interest that we decided to open these forums up to a larger spectrum of IT professionals who know and understand the technological needs of the hour. Google itself sees great potential in Sri Lanka’s digital transformation and FineTech is proud to be at the forefront of spearheading digitalisation in Sri Lanka.”
The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) used by many of these organisations is a suite of cloud computing services that runs on the same infrastructure that Google uses internally for its end-user products, such as Google Search and YouTube. Alongside a set of management tools, it provides a series of modular cloud services including computing, data storage, data analytics and machine learning. Google’s GSuite on the other hand is a brand of cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools, software and products developed by Google. Worldwide more than one billion users currently effectively use GCP products to enhance productivity and maximise their workflows.
