Federation of Information Technology Industry (FITIS), apex body of the ICT sector in Sri Lanka announced the launch of its new corporate brand identity at the inaugural ceremony of its National ICT Exhibition: Infotel 2019. The unveiling ceremony took place under the patronage of Minister of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology Ajith P. Perera, who also chaired the Infotel 2019 steering committee.
The outward improved designed to give a more modern appearance was reimagined to reflect the speed, connectivity and future opportunities that FITIS will bring forth as the leader of ICT industry in Sri Lanka.
Founded in 1996, FITIS, today is a much-needed focal point for the ICT industry in Sri Lanka. As the apex body of the ICT sector in the country, FITIS represents all major industry segments such as hardware, software, training and education, communication, digital services, office automation and professionals. Its active contribution towards contributing to building the ICT landscape of Sri Lanka during last two decades adds many ‘firsts’ and ‘bests’ to its credit. FITIS entails a cumulative membership of over 200 active tech and ICT businesses in Sri Lanka.
Speaking at the ceremony, FITIS Chairman Abbas Kamrudeen stated, “Information Technology is moving forward at an exponential phase and our new identity will position us to support the ICT industry during this era of disruption and technology transformations, in shapeshifting business models in Sri Lanka to transform to today’s agile business environment.”
FITIS Chief Executive Officer Aruna Alwis commented: “We are committed to our purpose of supporting our membership. The new face-lift was a strategic priority to FITIS following our previous launch of identity which took place in 2006. This will position our brand as relevant to meet with our stakeholder needs.”
To embark on this endeavour, FITIS partnered with one of Sri Lanka’s leading advertising and branding consultancies, Sarva Colombo; also known as the Growth agency for their track record of highly effective communication strategies and explosive growth figures. Commenting on the Corporate Partnership, Sarva Colombo Chief Operating Officer Imesh Goonewardene stated, “Not only are we proud of associating with FITIS as a Corporate Partner, what you see today before you, is a deliberate team effort to produce a distinguished identity showcasing values and purpose of FITIS towards the entire nation.
