Sri Lanka has been focusing more on its traditional export items and less on technological manufacturing. In the post-pandemic context especially, there is a growing demand and market opportunities for technical manufacturers. Seizing this opportunity, ESOFT Technologies Ltd., a subsidiary of ESOFT Metro Campus Ltd., recently powered the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) with its locally manufactured TYMO360 Smart Attendance system at their Secretary premises.
As the Managing Director of ESOFT Technologies, and the former President of CSSL, Dr. Dayan Rajapakse has given leadership to develop and promote such technology based manufacturing in Sri Lanka.
Founded in 1976, the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) represents Information and Communication Technology experts in Sri Lanka and is a member of the South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC) and International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). Locally, it is a member of the Organization for Professional Associations (OPA). The CSSL has also taken strong steps to strengthen its accreditation processes. It accredits local computing related degrees and is currently working with its Accreditation Board to associate Sri Lanka with Seoul Accord to bring its standards to a global level.
Having established its name as a major exporter of tea, rubber, spices, and textile and apparel, Sri Lanka is still having a long way to go in manufacturing technical equipment and expanding its market shares in the world. Taking a progressive step, ESOFT Technologies has been successful in establishing its identity as an emerging technological manufacturer in Sri Lanka.
Being a 100% Sri Lankan owned company, ESOFT Technologies has involved in many projects for reputed foreign and local clients. The R&D team recently came up with its latest innovative, TYMO360 a locally manufactured IOT based smart attendance tracking device. The device provides real time attendance data to effectively compile employee management procedures such as payroll, leave and roster through a cloud server. It also supports to easily track the employee attendance when working from home, at the workstation, or in the field.
Guided under the vision of Dr. Dayan Rajapakse and Shageevan Sachithanandan, Director –ESOFT Technologies, the dynamic R&D team at ESOFT Technologies continues their innovations to bring out its 100% locally manufactured flagship products to the local as well as the foreign markets.
