The Executive Committee of The Computer Society of Sri Lanka has issued a statement on the spread of false information on ICT platforms.
Following is the full statement. “Having been established in 1976, we would like to reiterate that The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) is the only recognised local apex body for ICT professionals in the country. “There have been numerous inquiries from CSSL on recently published articles on various matters pertaining to the ICT industry by certain groups which are misleading with distorted facts detrimental to the general public who obtain services offered on ICT platforms. “We earnestly request the public not to be misled by any news items which do not have proper technical grounds and to verify the authenticity of parties who spread such irresponsible statements prior to using such information.
“The CSSL promotes the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics for ICT Professionals and will continue to act as the responsible representatives of the ICT fraternity in Sri Lanka.”
