Three emerging subsidiaries of CodeGen International Ltd., AiGROW, RAM Studios and XOLO Smart Classroom, were recognised at the recently held e-Swabhimani Awards 2018, organised by the Information Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), for leveraging technology to significantly alter the landscape of the Agriculture and Education industries.
CodeGen’s agritech solution AiGROW, won the Digital Social Impact Award presented by the ICTA Sri Lanka for the year 2018, whilst RAM Studios powered by QBITS Labs of CodeGen received a Merit Award under the Digital Entertainment category, and XOLO Smart Classroom education platform was recognised under the Learning and Education category, for its solution design and application of technology in the education sector island-wide.
AiGROW was also adjudged a National Nominee to represent the Country at the United Nations (UN) World Summit Award (WSA) 2018. The solution was subsequently selected as one of the best in the Environment and Green Energy category, amongst 400 global nominations from over 200 UN member States, by an International Jury to compete in the WSA 2018 Finals. WSA is a global initiative within the framework of the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
AiGROW, Sri Lanka’s first Urban Agriculture solution, uses soil-less and vertical techniques to optimise output, reducing land requirement from 10 to 1, low operational costs, and minimises the carbon footprint of the country overtime. By synchronising multiple advanced technologies; Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Deep Learning and Autonomous Technologies, the solution aims to seamlessly connect greenhouses as well as local farming methods, to create a data driven platform for the agriculture industry and urban development of Countries.
Moreover, the newest start-up RAM Studios, an initiative under CodeGen’s QBIT Labs – an industry academia, is now revolutionising digital entertainment using advanced motion graphics to offer immersive and intuitive video games. Whilst, CodeGen’s most sought after education platform, XOLO powered by Cloud Smart School, is endorsed by the Education Ministry of Sri Lanka, and is extensively deployed in both public and private schools.
