Chamber Academy and Facebook to host webinar on digital payments

The Chamber Academy of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Facebook will be conducting an informative webinar on digital payments on Wednesday 26 August from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) announced 2020 as the Year of Digital Transactions. However, with the impact of COVID-19, this theme is even more relevant as businesses are now adopting more digital models for survival and growth. As such this timely webinar will see how this policy initiative is being implemented and the necessary policy framework required for digital payments. 

This discussion will pave the way for industry experts to share their experience and views on the use of digital platforms and technology to ease ways of conducting business post COVID-19. The panel discussion will focus on how digital payments can be further facilitated, how it can be integrated into systems, enhancing the role of digital wallets and how SMEs can grow in this payment ecosystem.

The eminent panel will include CBSL Director Payments and Settlements D. Kumaratunge, Lanka Clear Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Channa de Silva, ICTA Legal Director Jayantha Fernando, Public Policy Manager Sri Lanka Senura Abeywardena and the session will be moderated by Cargills Bank Ltd. MD/CEO Rajendra Theagarajah.
