The Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) recently announced its corporate partnership with Axiata Digital Labs (ADL) to promote collaborative projects to uplift digital transformation initiatives in Sri Lanka.

FITIS Chairman Abbas Kamrudeen said: “The partnership comes into effect at a time when digital transformation is perceived as an absolute necessity for businesses to stay resilient during the unprecedented outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. With many nations being impetus on building a digital nation, to boost innovation and economic growth and achieve such vision requires collaboration with top notch experts in the ICT Industry.”
“Looking at the bright side of the picture, the ‘new normal’ brings about many opportunities for the ICT Sector with the hyper acceleration of demand for technologies. Today we are able to witness people and traders using online platforms to trade, small traders using messaging platforms, corporates using virtual conferences and knowledge-sharing online platforms to keep things moving, educators doing online tutorials, doctors doing online channelling, hospitals using robotics to get closer to patients, people using social media to communicate with friends and families, online banking recommended to help prevent the spread of the epidemic, and the list continues,” he added.
Axiata Digital Labs Chief Executive Officer Thushera Kawdawatta said: “The impetus given by the global pandemic has brought in unprecedented unrest to the economic condition, and now the time to ‘wait and see’ is over and it’s time to act, unite and reboot’.”
