The inauguration ceremony of the 15th Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Telecommunication/ICT Development Forum was commenced under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (11 June). The event, hosted by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL), will continue until 13 June 2018 in Colombo.
The APT Telecommunication/ICT Development Forum (ADF) provides a platform for APT members, including governments, regulators, industry players and all other stakeholders, to discuss means of telecommunications and ICT development.
Marking the inauguration of the Forum, APT Secretary General Areewan Haorangsi welcomed all participants to the Forum. A special briefing was made by 15th Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Telecommunication/ICT Development Forum Vice President Tepua Hunter, and the inaugural lecture was delivered by Telecommunications Regulatory Commission Chairman and Secretary to the President Austin Fernando.
APT Secretary General Areewan Haorangsi presented a special memento to the President, and President Sirisena in turn presented a special memento to the Secretary General.
Telecommunications Regulatory Commission representatives, including the Director General, attended this Forum.
