A public lecture on ‘Mild Cognitive Impairment’ will be held on Sunday 7 August at 6 p.m. at the Lanka Hospital Colombo (formally Apollo Hospital), Auditorium, 10 Floor, 578 Elivitigala Mawatha, Narahenpita, Colombo 5.
The Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation presents Dr. S. Srikanth, Consultant Neuro-Physician, who will deliver an illustrated lecture and discussion on ‘Mild Cognitive Impairment’ (MCI). The subject has credible value for all adults, especially, those nearing their senior years, and those in their senior years.
MCI is a subject that is being debated around the world, as a probable precursor to Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders (dementia). Understanding the ramifications of MCI in our daily lives, may suggest a sensitive approach to prevention and minimising the risk of dementia, and a co-relationship to understanding dementia and what causes those physical disorders of the brain.
Treatment and support for MCI would be addressed as well followed by a question and answer session.
