Arjowiggins Healthcare, the world leader in sterile barrier solutions for the hospital and medical device industries, has appointed Papyrus Papers as the company’s authorised distributor in Sri Lanka.
The appointment paves the way for a wide range of safe bacterial barrier packaging products in the Arjowiggins Sterimed and Sterisheet portfolios to be marketed in Sri Lanka, propagating the use of sterile medical paper in the wrapping of surgical and other medical instruments used in local hospitals.

The Sterisheet range designed for Central Sterile Supply Departments (CSSDs) of hospitals comprises of bio-designed sterilisation wraps, cellulose-based sterilisation wraps and Spun-Melt-Spun (SMS) sterilisation wraps.
“Bacterial barrier paper from Arjowiggins is used by leading hospitals around the world to keep surgical instruments and other medical devices sterile,” Papyrus Corporation Chairman and CEO Ashan Abeyesundere said. “These are truly state-of-the-art medical paper products, and we are privileged to be appointed their authorised distributor in Sri Lanka.”
He said the appointment represents an important diversification as well as an expansion of the remit of Papyrus Papers, which has represented the Arjowiggins fine and specialty papers range including the heritage brand ‘Conqueror’ in Sri Lanka for more than 12 years.
