Upholding its strong commitment to continuous nutrition education, Nestlé Nutrition Institute (NNI) recently concluded an international scientific lecture symposium in Colombo.
On invitation by NNI, Professor Hania Szajewska, Chair of the Department of Paediatrics from the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland delivered a scientific deliberation on “Immunity & Child Health: Current Evidence” at the event. A world renowned academician on paediatric nutrition, she is also the General Secretary of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN). ESPGHAN is a global entity which sets the standards and guidelines for infant nutrition.
During her presentation, Prof. Szajewska shared the very latest scientific research on the proven benefits of “Probiotics” for the immunity and healthy growth of children. Also present at the event were Dr. Sanjeev Ganguly, Medical Director of Nestlé Nutrition Institute in the South Asian Region.
Over 100 key paediatricians and general practitioners attended the event. The lecture was followed by an interactive question and answer session facilitated by Dr. BJC Perera, a senior consult paediatrician. This unique forum offered a rare opportunity for local Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to exchange their views and experiences on a global platform.
