MARKSS Healthcare, one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka, under its flagship sustainability initiative ‘Markss Wellness Campaign,’ organised a workshop for a group of doctors at a Clinical Evening in Kegalle recently. Over 20 doctors attached to hospitals in Kegalle and family practitioners participated in the event.
Asthma is an immune driven disease condition that is most commonly a result of an exposure to one or more allergens. In situations where allergen is easily apparent as in the case of house dust, then it is best to avoid the allergen.
Consultant Chest Physician Dr. Manil Peiris delivered a lecture on presentations and management of asthma. His lecture was immensely appreciated by all the doctors who participated in the event as a modern and a technically sound presentation.
Usage of spacer devices is a common practice today for many patients. Dr. Peiris emphasised the importance of doctors observing the technique as the drug delivery to the lung depends for most part on the way the spacer is used. In addition Dr. Peiris stressed the importance of replacing the spacer device periodically based upon proper medical advice.
Dr. Peiris thanked MARKSS for the continued support extended to organise Continuous Medical Education programmes.
