The National Lotteries Board yesterday handed over to Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake a cheque for Rs. 10 million to be deposited in the National Kidney Fund
The National Kidney Fund was established in line with the sustainable program to control kidney disease, according to the concept of the President Maithripala Sirisena
The National Lotteries Board on the instruction of the Minister Karunanayake launched a new lottery under the name ‘Niroga’ recently and it first draw was held in July. The lottery has received the fullest support of the people of Sri Lanka and as a result, the Lotteries Board was able to present this amount of Rs. 10 million as revenue accrued from the lottery sale.
The Chairperson of the National Lotteries Board Attorney-at- Law Shyamila Perera handed over the cheque to Karunanayake at a ceremony held at the Finance Ministry last morning. Secretary to Finance Ministry Dr. R.H.S. Samarathunghe and General Manager Nalaka Kaluwawewa were also present on the occasion.
