The Ceylinco Healthcare Centre has announced an expansion of its scope of services with the addition of a specialised vaccination unit for adult vaccination.
Located at the Centre’s complex at No. 60, Park Street, Colombo 2, the unit provides vaccination against Chickenpox, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Typhoid, Hepatitis A and B and Japanese Encephalitis and also offers the Meningococcal, Pneumococcal, Influenza, Cervical Cancer and Rabies vaccines as well as the Booster Vaccines against Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis.
The Unit will focus primarily on overseas travellers including students, business travellers, those travelling for employment and hoteliers, groups travelling on pilgrimages, sportsmen and sportswomen, corporate clients as well as expatriates living in Sri Lanka, the Centre said.
People afflicted with diabetes or cancer have lower levels of immunity in general, and they will also benefit from the new unit, said Ceylinco Healthcare Centre Senior Medical Officer Dr. Shyama Fernando.
Dr. Fernando said, “We found that there is a great demand for a travel and adult vaccination unit of this nature in Sri Lanka. We have fulfilled that need and the services are offered under one roof in a comfortable, private and non-hospital atmosphere. All vaccinations available at the Centre are purchased from reputed government approved pharmaceutical companies to ensure high quality and we maintain a proper Cold Chain Management System for the storage of vaccines to guarantee that they are kept in optimal conditions.”
The new vaccination unit is headed by a fully qualified Vaccinalogist. The services of specially trained staff and a fully-equipped dedicated treatment area are available to visitors, the Centre said.
A vaccination record with a sticker of the vaccination given is issued to everyone who obtains a vaccination from the Centre.
Appointments can be obtained by calling the Centre on 2490290 or through e-chanelling services.
