Top apparel exporter Brandix has come forward to support the 2010 National Safety and Health Week programme of the Ministry of Labour Relations and Manpower, which begins with a high powered technical conference in Colombo on 7 October.
A group that provides direct employment to more than 30,000 associates, Brandix has been designated a main sponsor of the conference that targets employers and employees alike. This is the third occasion that Brandix is supporting the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, which seeks to create greater awareness on these subjects in workplaces across the island.
“Brandix is a benchmark for best practice in the sphere of safety and health in workplaces,” the Group’s Head of Compliance Dhammika Abeygoonawardhane said. “As one of the largest apparel manufacturing groups in the region, we have acquired a depth of knowledge and expertise in this area which we are happy to share with other sectors and industries.”
The sponsorship cheque for the 2010 National Safety and Health Week programme was recently presented by Brandix to Dr. Hemantha Wickramasinghe, Director General of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
