Reuters: A study shows that the size of waist is linked to increased risk of aggressive prostate cancer.
Research on nearly 150,000 men from eight European countries showed that an extra four inches on the waist could lead to a 13 % increase in risk of prostate cancer.
The study was presented at the European Obesity Summit in Gothenburg, Sweden.
UK Cancer Research’s Nicola Smith said: “An 18% increase in risk isn’t that big when you take into account no risk of prostate overall. So just keep in mind, if you’re noticing symptoms go and see your GP and anything you can do to keep a healthy normal weight will decrease your chance of prostate cancer and other types of cancer overall.”
