It’s inevitable, with the New Year comes New Year’s resolutions. Almost everyone wishes to get fitter and healthier or lose those extra pounds gained during the season. But we all need that little nudge to help us kick start our new year resolutions. That is why AIA Insurance, in keeping true to its brand promise of helping people live healthier, longer, better lives have organised the ‘Walk to Give with AIA Insurance,’ 100,000 steps challenge to start off your fitness journey for the year 2022. Signing up for this steps challenge does not only help you get fitter and win exciting rewards, but it also helps raise funds and create awareness about the risk of cancer and alzheimer’s, two leading non-communicable diseases in Sri Lanka.
Your challenge is to virtually walk from Kalutara to Galle by completing 100,000 steps between 15 and 31 January 2022. You can download the ayubo.life app via the App Store or Play Store and join the challenge, not forgetting that the steps walked anywhere and anytime, may it be at work or home, will be captured and mapped on the virtual challenge route. Completing the ‘Walk to Give with AIA Insurance’ challenge gives you a chance to win exciting rewards such as Fitbit watches, AIA merchandise packs and many more from AIA Insurance and, most importantly, to also be part of the Rs. 1 million donation made to Sri Lanka Cancer Society and the Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation.
AIA AGM Marketing Shevanthie De Alwis noted: “We are delighted to start the new year by giving back to society. This is not just a one-off initiative, as a brand we have been actively helping Sri Lankans overcome the risk of non-communicable diseases for healthier, longer, better lives. The most significant initiative of them all is the ongoing three-year partnership with Sri Lanka Cancer Society where we donate Rs. 100 for every policy sold.”
Ayubo.life co-founder/CEO Chandima Cooray added: “Health is a human right and if there is any good that came out of these two years of COVID-19 pandemic, it has to be the way it made us prioritise physical and mental health like never before. Our core philosophy revolves around creating healthier nations by making living healthy easy, affordable and fun. Therefore, we take pride in being able to partner the AIA’s Walk to Give 100,000 steps challenge which not only helps Sri Lankans live healthier, longer, better lives but also creates awareness on two leading non-communicable diseases in Sri Lanka.”
