Union Assurance partners with oDoc to facilitate free access to healthcare for its policyholders across Sri Lanka in response to the pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the interconnected nature of our world – and that no one is safe until everyone is safe. With the spread of the virus creating intermittent lockdowns and quarantine curfews that restrict movement, Union Assurance and oDoc have partnered to offer leading telemedicine solutions for convenient access to unlimited medical consultations for up to four family members, digital prescriptions, pharmacy deliveries (for Colombo and suburbs), and mobile lab services (for Colombo and suburbs) and more.
Through oDoc Union Assurance policyholders can avail themselves of services from the convenience of their living rooms instead of waiting rooms, ensuring around-the-clock access to medical care. With oDoc, Union Assurance policyholders can consult a doctor under three minutes, receive a prescription and get medicine delivered to their doorstep. Phone consultations take place just like physical consultations where age, allergies and medical history are discussed followed by the consultation.
The oDoc platform connects users with SLMC registered doctors and healthcare professionals for video consultation, audio consultation, and care through their mobile phone. This means Union Assurance policyholders have access to high-quality care without the hassle of traffic, waiting rooms and queues. The American Medical Association has found that nearly 75% of regular doctor visits can be handled effectively through video or audio consultations. This form of healthcare delivery has gained global acceptance and is in wide use in countries including the US, the UK, Indonesia, the UAE and Rwanda.
All doctors on oDoc are equipped with a dedicated application to manage oDoc consultations and issue prescriptions, making the doctor-patient interaction smoother than ever before.
All Union Assurance policyholders are invited to sign up for oDoc via their mobile phones by sending a message, UADOC<space>NIC and send an SMS to 0771 330 000.
