The upcoming edition of the Sri Lanka Medical and Equipment Virtual Expo (SLMEVE) to be held from 16-19 March will take place on the Bee2Bee platform. SLMEVE is an initiative to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of quality medical and healthcare products in Sri Lanka in the post pandemic era.
The participation of 55+ manufacturers at this online expo will give suppliers from India, China, Japan, Indonesia, Korea and Malaysia the opportunity to directly connect and discuss business cooperation with Sri Lanka’s state and private hospitals, medical clinics, health centres, medical laboratories, state procurement agencies, importers, distributors, agents, pharmacies, hotels and resorts, pharmacies, healthcare retailers, corporate business houses, traders and wholesalers, and others.
The India pavilion has been formed by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the largest and oldest apex business organisation in India with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The India Pavilion will offer an opportunity to source non-woven textiles, surgical disposables, PPE kits, biochemistry analysers, ventilators, patient and parameter monitors, hospital equipment and furniture, ECG machines, diagnostics equipment and software, and many more healthcare related products and devices.
Speaking on the occasion Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Secretary General and CEO Manjula de Silva said, “We congratulate FICCI and Worldex India for partnering with us to organise the first ever ‘Sri Lanka Medical and Equipment Virtual Expo 2021’. Through this virtual expo, we foresee many business collaborations and joint ventures taking place. We invite suppliers to manufacture medical equipment in Sri Lanka and make use of the existing free trade agreements to promote exporting of these items to our neighbouring countries in the SAARC Region. We wish everyone success at this Virtual Expo.”
Some of the leading companies participating at SLMEVE include Samsung Healthcare, Medical Edge Japan, Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), Jayco Safety, Janitri Innovations, Zyphar’s Pharmaceutics, Romsons International, Sure Safety, Genworks Health (Wipro GE Co.), Bio Medical Devices, Group Pharmaceuticals, Panacea Medical Technologies, Fasten Medical, Phoenix Medical Systems, Allied Medical, Rups Medipack and many more.
Sri Lanka Chamber of Medical Devices Industry (SLCMDI) Head-PR Committee Gehan Seneviratne said, “The Chamber is glad to associate with Worldex India to organise Sri Lanka Medical and Equipment Virtual Expo on the Bee2Bee virtual platform. This is a good opportunity for our member companies to stay connected and source quality products for our state and private healthcare providers in Sri Lanka.”
