Regular contributor to the Sunday Times and the Lanka Monthly Digest (LMD), Dr. Sanjiva Wijesinha will be in Sri Lanka to conduct a half-day seminar on ‘Health for Busy People’on 31 October at the Galadari Hotel.
Dr. Wijesinha is currently Associate Professor of General Practice, Faculty of Medicine, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. Educated at the University of Ceylon and the University of Oxford, he was a specialist surgeon at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Colombo for many years before he embarked on his overseas career. He has authored two books on health: ‘Health for Busy People’ and ‘Health in these Times’. His other publications include ‘Strangers on the Camino’, ‘Tales from my Island’ and ‘Not Our War’.
Sanjiva has the art of driving home important points using many anecdotes, and will draw on his experience in Australia, UK and Sri Lanka as well as his experience in the Sri Lanka Army and the Australian Army as a volunteer officer.
Organised by BizEx Consulting Ltd., a boutique consultancy and training outfit with a mission to enhance business excellence of Sri Lanka corporates, and which specialises in productivity techniques and Japanese management techniques, the seminar addresses the woeful lack of health consciousness of Sri Lankan executives which sometimes prevents organisations realising their full potential. Many executives and managers have confided that they paid scant attention to health and fitness issues when they were rising in their careers only to be held back with unexpected health issues.
The seminar will cover the common health issues and help participants to prepare a Health Plan much like the Business Plan that they are used to. There will be plenty of time for individual questions and also anonymous written questions.
Early registration is advised in view of the limited accommodation. Inquiries may be made from B’Connected on telephone 0112503510 or 0776371134 or by email to [email protected]. An early bird discount of 10% is also available for registrations and payments before 17 October.
