Rotary International President Mark Maloney visited the newly opened Ayati Centre and unveiled the Rotary plaque in a simple ceremony. The RI President was accompanied by District Governor Sebastian Karunakaran and President RC of Colombo West Pravir Samarasinghe.
This National Centre of excellence for Children with Disabilities provides hope to differently abled children to reach their full potential and creates possibilities for them to integrate effectively in to the society.
Rotary joined hands with MAS Holdings, Hemas PLC and other donors to ensure the successful establishment of the Centre which is located within the University of Kelaniya premises at a cost of Rs. 550 million. The Rotary Club of Colombo West along with Rotary Foundation donated Rs. 45 million worth of important equipment to the Ayati Centre.
