Golden Key Hospital, Colombo’s leading ENT Hospital has acquired a new GSI Audiostar Pro audiometry investigation machine to upgrade its Audiology Unit and enhance the quality of clinical care for patients.
The latest audiometry machine from the GSI family, this equipment will augment the efficiency of the Audiology Unit of the Hospital by performing Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) tests which help assess the hearing levels of patients, and issuing more accurate system reports, a hospital spokesman said.
The GSI Audiostar Pro is a complete clinical testing facility for all age ranges. Its built-in auxiliary intercom, active microphone during tone presentation, and remote testing capabilities provide a multitude of options for testing even the more difficult-to-test patients.
The machine is able to provide immediate results in the form of a complete report that is useful for reviews between patients and consultants on the spot. This is enabled by its stand-alone configuration which is optimised with direct connections to a wireless keyboard and mouse making it fast and easy to enter patient demographics, report comments, and expedite test administration. In addition, the direct connection to a printer and the integrated print button makes the process of report generation instant.
Commenting on this new acquisition, the spokesman said: “As the leading specialist hospital in the country in the field of ENT care, the Golden Key Hospital periodically upgrades or supplements its equipment to ensure patients have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities. With the upgrade and expansion of our Audiology Unit with the latest GSI Audiostar Pro, patients will be benefitted by even more precise audiometry, a decrease in the time gap between tests and results, and increased convenience.”
According to it manufacturer Grason-Stadler, the GSI Audiostar Pro Clinical Two-Channel Audiometer is fast, user friendly and customisable; addresses the research trends in hearing evaluation through its pre-configured special tests such as QuickSIN, BKB-SIN, TEN (HL), ABLB, SISI and Tone Decay; and is efficient and seamless; and easily integrates audiometric data into every facility’s data management system from VA, ENT, Private Practice, Hearing Aid, Cochlear Implant and Paediatric facilities.
The Golden Key Hospital is the only private sector hospital in Sri Lanka that is a centre of excellence dedicated and equipped for all Eye and ENT related investigations, treatment and surgery.
