English Nursing Care Services, an innovative home nursing and elderly care solutions provider, expands its service offerings with the addition of ‘Managed Maid Eldercare’ – an initiative to develop domestic help with expert training and management, to better serve those in need of specialised caregiving with the comfort of a familiar face.
While leaving our elders in the hands of another is often a daunting task, English Nursing’s Managed Maid Eldercare entails an operational training program with the objective to up-skill the client’s existing domestic helper.
With a minimum training span of three months, English Nursing Care Services take into consideration the trust and relationship between the client and helper, customising its service according to the patient’s specific needs.
This program will provide its clients with a comprehensive assessment and then the delivery of a bespoke training package to allow the patient’s needs to be met in their own home – whether for long-term care or rehabilitation after a hospital stay.
Commenting on the service, English Nursing Care Services General Manager Ivanka Fonseka stated: “This is a truly innovative service that recognises the needs of providing eldercare to a patient at home whilst minimising disruption to their existing routine. Our service of upskilling their domestic helper to provide good quality eldercare provides real support to the family. Our expert staff always remain available when required.”
As a subsidiary company from the United Kingdom, English Nursing Care Services in Colombo is a supervised home nursing service which allows quality care within the comfort of an individual’s home. Bringing in expertise from the UK, English Nursing aims to develop Sri Lanka’s community nursing and care sector by setting elevated standards in quality and compassionate nursing care in the country.
Attesting the efficiency of Managed Maid Eldercare, a family member of one of English Nursing’s existing patients stated: “We needed more specialised care than our home help could provide after my father returned from hospital with an NG tube and a catheter fitted. His pressure sores have now cleared due to the supervision of English Nursing. The spot checks and a regular report from English Nursing keeps me updated on the care that my father is receiving – granting me a great peace of mind.”
With the increasing dynamics of educational opportunities and careers around the world, English Nursing Care Services take into account a family’s struggle to provide their elders with utmost care and attention.
With 50 years of experience in community care, the UK management team will work closely with the Sri Lankan team – providing them with management oversight, nursing supervision and training skills to maximise existing patient care.
Thus, with the availability of Managed Maid, families could attain piece of mind, knowing their loved ones would be granted high quality, reliable and compassionate nursing led by the capability of qualified specialists, but delivered day to day by their longstanding domestic staff.
