Baraka supports continuous medical education

Leading herbal healthcare brand Baraka, in its quest to improve the quality of human life, held a pharmacy education program enhancing the knowledge of pharmacy personnel of the Kurunegala and suburban pharmacies and Ayurveda outlets. 

The program focused to discuss new trends in healthcare and the important role of the pharmacies as care-giving personnel and how they could add value in healthcare management. A good presence of over 90 pharmacy personnel attended the event. 

The keynote speaker, Govt. Hospital Kurunegala Ayurveda Consultant Dr. S.K.R Muthugale, in his address emphasised the important role pharmacies play in dispensing and advising patients. With the growing incidence of non-communicable diseases today, understanding the relationship of lifestyle and treatment and enhancing one’s knowledge in this area would supplement the role of the pharmacists. Dr. Muthugale further elaborated on the topics of Ayurvedic quality control and new innovations in Ayurveda.

Baraka R&D Officer Dr. Samanthi Jayarathna in her address briefed the delegates on the various quality certifications received for Baraka and their importance in ensuring product standards. Baraka, being exported to many countries around the world, are required to meet international standards for quality and safety. 

The process of its modern state-of-the-art factory in Ratmalana, producing herbal supplements, registered with the Dept. of Ayurveda, was also highlighted. The delegates were presented with certificates of participation, with their queries being clarified during the Q&A session. 

The delegates were very thankful for having had the opportunity to attend such an event and for the new learnings gathered.  The program will be extended to other regional areas as well in relation to their theme Baraka supports continuous medical education.
