The Young Members Forum (YMF) of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will facilitate the WEF (World Economic Forum) Young Global Leaders ‘South Asia Bridge Initiative’ which will take place in Colombo on 18 February.
The one-day event will take place at The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and is expected to discuss topics such as ‘Prospects and Challenges for South Asian Regional Integration,’ ‘Shaping a New Sri Lankan Economy,’ ‘Sri Lankan Businesses Going Global’ and ‘Social and Cultural issues faced by Business Women in Sri Lanka and Creating Opportunity in North and East specially with Women Engagement in Entrepreneurship’.
The panel will include the likes of Dr. Saman Kelegama, the Executive Director of the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka, Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, Advisor to the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, Rajendra Theagarajah, the CEO of NDB Bank, Professor Imtiaz Ahmed, Executive Director, Regional Centre for Strategic Studies, Linda Speldewinde, the founder/Managing Director of AOD Sri Lanka and Anushka Wijesinha, Chief Economist of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
This is the first time Sri Lanka has been elected within the South Asian countries to host the Young Global Leaders (YGLs) event of The World Economic Forum.
Young Global Leaders Forum in Sri Lanka is the party which took the initiative to host this session in collaboration with the YMF of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The event will contribute to the enhancement of relations between countries in South Asia. The Young Global Leaders Community is a global network of senior leaders representing a cross section of the society. The event is expected to take part by around 40 Young Global Leaders and also members from the Young Members Forum (YMF) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
Young Members Forum of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is arm initiated by the Chamber to identify, engage and develop the next generation of Sri Lankan leaders by providing an inspirational growth opportunity for them through various strategically driven programs.
