Associate Director of The University of Toledo Ohio USA Mark Schroeder recently met with President American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka Vijaya Ratnayake to discuss matters related to recruitment of Lankan students to the University of Toledo, popularising US schools in the island and the possibilities of Toledo and Colombo working together on many mutually beneficial projects etc.
Ratnayake responded by explaining how closely AmCham works with many local stakeholders promoting US products and services in SL.
Scholarships for USA (Pvt) Ltd., is a member of AmCham and work closely promoting US education across the length and breadth of the island. During the last few years it has been tirelessly promoting US education to the furthest reaches of the island placing over 200 students who came mostly from the provinces and middle class families.
The larger majority of them have done exceedingly well; creating an excellent reputation for Sri Lanka. SUSA also has facilitated over 10 institutional collaborations between the US and Sri Lanka; covering various fields and making US education increasingly affordable and accessible to more youth.
