Two day training programme on Internal Auditing ISO 9001:2008

Multi-stakeholder set up Ind-Expo Certification Ltd, non-profit making certification organization, has organized a two-day training program on Internal Auditing ISO 9011:2008 Quality Management Systems from July 28 to 29 in Colombo.  

The program’s objectives are to impart the knowledge on ISO 9001:2008 standard and provide the participant with the techniques to undertake structural internal audits referring the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 standard.

The programme is designed to understand the requirements of the standard and auditing principles and techniques.  It is an interactive training model  with several assignments including a mock audit to impart practical knowledge in auditing.

Course content will include Introduction to ISO 9001: 2008 standard; Quality Management Systems elements;  Principles of auditing;  Planning of audits;  Conducting audits; Detection of non conformities and Reporting and follow-up

Resource person will be a qualified Lead Auditor who has held a senior position in the public sector with    many years  of  experience  in  Management  Systems  Certification  including Quality Management Systems (QMS)  and an experienced resource person  and Consultant in the area of QMS.

A spokesperson for Ind-Expo Certification said most of the companies thrive its targets to maximize returns in a highly competitive market environment. Therefore meeting the customer requirements consistently in an extended need to sustain, ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System helps the organization to create products of consistent quality and work efficiently reducing their cost which in turn help to maximize profits. It also reassures customers that they will receive a consistent quality product or service. It also helps to increase the morale of the staff and increase job satisfaction.

An internal audit also is used to assess conformity, evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

Referring to the learning outcomes, the spokesperson said at the end of the training programme the participants would be able to acquire knowledge on internal auditing to assess and evaluate their company’s Quality Management System which will facilitate certification Ind-Expo Certification Ltd., was established by the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) and the National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) of Sri Lanka with the assistance from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under its project “Strengthening the International Certification Capacity in Sri Lanka” with the assistance  of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
