SLITAD has made a significant contribution towards the HRD profession of the country by producing more than 200 full-fledged trainers with its Diploma course in Training and Development.
SLITAD conducts workshops to enhance professional competencies among professionals under different themes. It organised a workshop recently on ‘Competency Based Training for Superior Performance’ facilitated by Suranjith Godagama, Asst. General Manager HRD, Union Assurance, which was well-attended and a great success.
The participants acclaimed the programme, saying they learnt about the competencies within a day in a very pragmatic manner. It was an interactive session and the participants were involved in many exercises and practical lessons to understand the difference between traditional training and competency-based training. At the end of the program they stated they were taking home a lot of new concepts and were eagerly awaiting the next program on training.

SLITAD has arranged the next workshop for HR and HRD personnel on the topic ‘Training as a Tool for Changing Paradigms (Mindset)’ on 8 May at Hotel Renuka by veteran trainer, HRD practitioner and business consultant Sampath Thrimavithana, CEO of Sponge Global Learning.
This is an ideal opportunity for those involved in people management to learn how to use training to change people’s paradigms. For further details contact the SLITAD Secretariat on 0112807170/4019868.
